This course covers the chain of responsiveness, from preference formation to policy outcomes. It focuses on theories of public opinion and elite behavior, while also including specific sessions on research design. Students learn key concepts and theories of representation and have the opportunity to apply them in an individual project.

This course provides an introduction to key topics in comparative politics, including democracy, systems of government, electoral systems, party systems, and women’s representation. It is designed to give students a foundation in the field and prepare them for more specialized courses.
